Tresoro di Riparbella is a wine with a single soul and three hearts, born from the embrace between Caiarossa Winery, Duemani, and Tenuta Prima Pietra. United by their shared operational methods and conscientious approach to nature, they are joining forces to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of their terroir. All three wineries, which are organic and/or biodynamic, are located in an unspoiled and captivating stretch of Tuscany, benefiting from its proximity to the sea and the presence of lush woods, a precious, pulsating lung.
This is where the three grape varietals that make up Tresoro are cultivated: Cabernet Sauvignon from Caiarossa, Cabernet Franc from Duemani, and Merlot from Tenuta Prima Pietra. Each variety was vinified separately in locally produced terracotta amphorae by Drunk Turtle, the inventor of these innovative winemaking vessels, and aged in French oak barriques before being blended. The distinguished winemakers behind this wine are Jerome Poissons of Caiarossa, Luca D'Attoma of Duemani, and Cecilia Leoneschi of Tenuta Prima Pietra.
The label also features a well-known name, bearing the signature of Livorno-based painter Mario Madiai. The artist, who also created the label for the previous vintage, drew inspiration from the sea for the 2018 vintage, with its intense and luminous blue hue that merges with the vineyards of the three wineries in this representation, reaffirming itself as an essential element and an indelible symbol of these virtuous realities.
Only 2,000 bottles are produced per vintage, with each sold in its own hand-painted oak wooden case. Each winery markets one-third of the production, and each label is strictly numbered.
Color: Brilliant ruby red.
Aroma: The bouquet is spicy, fresh, and enveloping. It smells of fresh cherries, the sea, pine needles, Mediterranean scrub, and tobacco.
Taste: The freshness on the nose is found on the palate alongside hints of spice and a driving but not overpowering alcohol content, supported by a slender, sinuous, and muscular body marked by evolving and well-balanced tannins.
