The name Donna Olimpia 1898 is in honor of Olimpia Alliata, Lady of Biserno and wife of Gherardo della Gherardesca, who christened the Estate in 1898 on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary.
The grape bunches are hand-picked during the harvest, and after destemming, only the best grapes continue the winemaking process, being pressed. The must obtained from this operation ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, and the wine is then transferred for final aging in oak barriques.

Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red color with evident violet reflections; a clean, broad aroma with notes of small red berries, bell pepper, chocolate, and licorice; a very harmonious taste with good structure and a very persistent, sweet finish.
