On the highest hills of this estate, which was already producing wine in the 1800s, a small vineyard of Sangiovese has been identified that offers us extraordinary emotions. Its altitude of 450 meters, its exposure to the warm afternoon sun, the gravelly soils and the healthy Mediterranean winds confer extreme elegance, personality and longevity to this Brunello reserve.
The grapes were harvested manually after a careful initial selection in the vineyard. Upon arrival in the winery, they underwent further meticulous inspection, with manual sorting of each berry. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with frequent re-fermentation, especially during the early stages, to obtain a good extraction of the color and structural components.
24 months in Slavonian oak barrels, 36 months in French oak barrels, then 6 months in the bottle
Intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. Its charismatic personality emerges even more on the nose: a splendid aromatic complexity extremely well-structured. The clear notes of small black fruits, raspberries and candied orange peel are enriched by subtle balsamic notes, incense and tea leaves. On the palate it develops with a crunchy fruit and an extreme freshness. In the finish the dense tannin structure, with well-smoothed and rounded tannins, gives it great balance. Extremely long and persistent finish.
James Suckling 97/100, Falstaff 95/100,
