Organic For many, it is the younger sibling of Brunello di Montalcino, but for us, Rosso di Montalcino is a wine with its own distinct identity.
The harvest generally takes place earlier than the regional average, thus maintaining good acidity to preserve the wine's elegance and verticality, and aiding its longevity. To achieve the right structure and volume, only medium-small bunches are used. Once manually selected, in less than half an hour, they are destemmed and gravity-fed into stainless steel and cement fermentation tanks. Fermentation occurs using only indigenous yeasts, allowing the wine to develop its own organoleptic characteristics. The maceration period is about 20 days, characterized by repeated pump-overs and punch-downs for better polyphenol extraction.
In large 30-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels for a period of about 1 year
Tasting: Ruby red color. It releases very intense aromas of berries and cherry, sour cherry, juniper berries, hibiscus, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it has character and elegance to spare, showing itself in a juicy and crisp sip, where a dense and very fine tannic structure prepares for an incredibly fresh, delicious, and satisfying finish.
