Hampden Estate 1753 is a Pure Single Jamaican Rum produced by the legendary and namesake distillery Hampden Estate founded in 1753 in the Trelawny region of Jamaica. This bottling represents the continuous new entry point into the brand's official range, offering the classic and bold "high-ester" profile (rich in esters and complex aromas) in a more accessible and versatile key.
3 years entirely in tropical climate in Jamaica, using ex-Bourbon oak barrels. Due to the strong evaporation (the altitude of the angels), tropical aging accelerates the maturation of the distillate compared to European climates.
Bright golden-bronze color. On the nose you immediately sense the typical high-ester profile (the so-called funk). Intense notes of ripe banana, syruped pineapple and citrus emerge, accompanied by more pungent nuances reminiscent of enamel or glue (typical of the prolonged fermentation of Hampden). In the background, vanilla and the sweet wood of the cask are perceived. Take a small sip and "wrap your mouth around it" to get your palate used to the alcohol. • Let the rum warm on the tongue. The entry is dry and intense. You will rediscover the tropical fruit perceived on the nose, but enriched with spicy notes of black pepper, ginger and cinnamon, along with hints of licorice and toasted wood. The texture is warm, vibrant and clean. After swallowing, exhale gently with your mouth. The finish of Hampden 1753 is medium-long, dry and spicy. It leaves a pleasant memory of dried fruit, black tea and a slight herbaceous/smoky note in the mouth.
