Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km. southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the homonymous locality where a characteristic 19th-century railway station is located. The estate is composed of 184 hectares, of which 65 are planted mainly to the south-west at an altitude of approximately 130 meters above sea level. From time immemorial, Pian delle Vigne has pursued the philosophy aimed at producing great wine capable of preserving the extraordinary integrity of the Sangiovese fruit and giving Brunello the characteristic vibrant elegance. The estate has been owned by the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first vintage of Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The philosophy aimed at the large cask, capable of preserving the extraordinary integrity of the Sangiovese fruit and giving Brunello the vibrant elegance characteristic of this variety, finds an extraordinary expression in Brunello Pian delle Vigne.
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes were crushed and pressed gently before being transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place. The maceration lasted about fifteen days at a temperature of 28 °C.
over 24 months in large barrels and then in bottle
It has a ruby red color. On the nose, fragrant sensations of cherry, black cherry, and blood orange blend with hints of violet and light balsamic and vanilla nuances to create a complex bouquet. On the palate it is fresh, savory, with elegant and silky tannins. The lingering aftertaste is characterized by fruity notes of citrus fruits and delicate spicy and vanilla aromas.

Ideal with pappardelle with wild boar or wild goat sauce, also excellent with structured soups such as the classic Tuscan ribollita. Excellent with wild boar in cacciatora, caprioli, deer, wild boar in stew and faggiano; it pairs wonderfully with the traditional Fiorentina steak cooked over charcoal and braised beef. Perfect with very aged cheeses (such as the Tuscan DOP pecorino matured in a cave) or herbal and fermented cheeses.
