Grapes from the historic MGA ‘Brunate’ vineyard in the municipality of La Morra, on the southern side towards Barolo. The soil is characterized by the Sant’Agata marne and is located at an altitude of about 350m above sea level. The average age of the vineyards is 51 years, cultivated using the Guyot system with a density of about 4,600 plants per hectare.
Harvesting of the grapes was carried out strictly by hand on September 30, 2020. After the soft pressing, fermentation lasted about 3 weeks in a steel vat in contact with the skins. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in wood barrels.
Approximately 30 months in total between the barrels and large oak casks. Bottled without filtration.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red wine. On the nose it is explosive, powerful and expansive. Fruity notes of plum, citrus and grapefruit are evident, but also spicy ones. As the minutes pass in the glass, violet notes become noticeable, characteristic of the Brunate terroir. On the palate it is full and intense. The tannins are soft, round, velvety, typical of the La Morra region. On the finish there is a perception of licorice root.
