Grapes from the single vineyard MGA ‘Lazzarito’ in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, a fabulous amphitheater-shaped plot with south-west exposure. The soil is limestone-clayey and the altitude is between 330 and 380 m a.s.l. The average age of the vineyards is 43 years, cultivated using the Guyot system, with a density of about 4,500 plants per hectare. The total area of Vietti is approximately 2 hectares.
Harvesting of the grapes is carried out strictly by hand in early October 2020. Following the soft pressing, fermentation lasts about 4 weeks in a steel vat in contact with the skins. This time includes pre- and post-fermentation maceration using the traditional submerged-cap method. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wood.
Approximately 30 months in total between the barrels and large oak casks. Bottled without filtration.
Color: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections
Fragrance: Balsamic notes, sage, eucalyptus, white pepper and mint are perceived.
Taste: On the palate it is full, with a tense and mineral finish. The tannins are typical of Serralunga: angular, austere and very deep. The sweet persistence on the finish is pleasant.
