Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located in the small and prestigious DOC of Bolgheri, on the coast of the Alta Maremma, about a hundred kilometers southwest of Florence. This appellation has a relatively short history (it was established in 1994) but boasts an international reputation as a new benchmark in the world wine scene. Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends over an area of approximately 320 hectares of vineyards in a beautiful plain surrounded by hills known as the “Bolgheri amphitheater” for its particular configuration. Bruciato was born in 2002, during one of the most difficult vintages at Tenuta Guado al Tasso, to tell and make known, in a modern style, the unique terroir of Bolgheri. The carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes come from vineyards located on soils with a wide geological variability capable of expressing great complexity.
Upon arrival in the cellar, the selected grapes were destemmed and pressed gently. Fermentation and maceration took place in stainless steel tanks with thermo-conditioning for a period of approximately 10-15 days at a temperature of 28-30 °C. Part of the musts from Merlot and Syrah were kept at lower fermentation temperatures to preserve the varietal aromas more fully. Malolactic fermentation took place partly in barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks, and was completed by the end of the year for all varieties. Subsequently, Cabernet Sauvignon was joined by Merlot, Syrah, and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Some months in barrique and 4 months in bottle
Bruciato 2024 presents itself in its usual intense ruby red color. On the nose, notes of small red fruits such as raspberry and cherry stand out, joined by sensations of vanilla, tobacco and light sugar syrup. On the palate it is balanced and enveloping: the pleasant freshness is accompanied by a good persistence and a pleasant fruity aftertaste. A wine that remains true to its style and always surprises with its pleasant drinkability.
3 Glasses Gambero Rosso, 4 Grappoli Bibenda, James Suckling 92/100, Robert Parker 90/100
Perfect with Tuscan traditional first courses such as pappardelle with wild boar or wild boar ragout. It also finds an excellent balance with risotto and stews based on porcini mushrooms. It perfectly enhances the classic Fiorentina steak, the tagliata of beef and special cuts cooked on the grill such as picanha and diaframma. It is ideal for pairing with stracotti, braised beef and special cuts cooked on the grill such as picanha and diaframma. It is ideally suited to pairing with the typical, flavorful and slightly fatty wild boar, ideal with Tuscan aged or other hard-cheese sausages.
