Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the gentle hills nestled between the valleys of Greve and Pesa and extends over 319 hectares, of which about 130 are planted with vines. The vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello are composed primarily of the indigenous Sangiovese and non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Marchese Antinori is an historic wine from the Antinori family that, since the 2011 vintage, has been produced with grapes from Tenuta Tignanello. A wine that presents itself as the full expression of the quality and elegance of the Sangiovese of these areas.
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and then pressed gently; the must was transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place, which took place over about a week. The maceration was managed with very gentle remountings and délestage to ensure an intense extraction but at the same time capable of preserving the elegance and sweetness of the tannins. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, which took place spontaneously by the end of the year,
The assembled wine continued its aging period in French and Hungarian oak barrels for about a year. The Marchese Antinori was then bottled and aged in bottle for a further 12 months.
Tasting notes: Ruby red in color, Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2023 strikes the nose with notes of blackcurrant, small red berries and raspberry jelly that blend with floral scents of rosehip and violet; the bouquet is complemented by spicy notes of ginger, cocoa, pastry cream and aromas of cedar. On the palate, the balance between the silky texture of the drink and the final sweetness is impressive. The tannin structure, sweet and dense, enhances a persistent finish characterized by notes of chocolate and vanilla sugar.
