Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km. southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the homonymous locality on which a characteristic 19th-century railway station is located. The farm covers 184 hectares, of which 83 are vineyards exposed to the southeast at an altitude of approximately 130 meters above sea level.
A wine that enhances the pleasant fragrance of Sangiovese in its purest form, the historic variety of Montalcino. The vineyards located on limestone-clayous soils produce a fresh, mineral and highly drinkable Rosso di Montalcino.
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes were crushed, pressed gently, and transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 25 °C, lasting about 8-10 days.
10 months in barrel
Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino has a ruby red color. On the nose it is fresh and delicate: the typical notes of Sanguinella orange, characteristic of the variety, combine with sensations of white flowers reminiscent of jasmine. On the palate it is juicy, graceful, and characterized by savory and velvety tannins that accompany a long finish characterized by sensations of red fruit and citrus, such as grapefruit.
